Downhill Chills

Satisfaction is excellent, but detrimental. If I am satisfied with a piece of work or a schedule write-in, I simply move on to the next venture. Or do I not move on and, instead, enjoy what ever is in front of me? Does satisfaction depend on personal needs? I would like to think that external factors are of the lesser movers, but are they? Since I am part of the society, part of the whole, who is the primary mover? Chance, emotion, environment, early development, culture, certain reality.
